Sustainability is at the heart of everything they do at the hotel and Parkroyal shows that being sustainable is not only about boring recycle bins! The exterior of the hotel alone is eye-catching with a vertical garden façade incorporating sky planters that stands out amongst the concrete jungle.
Inside, it boasts roof terraces showcasing 13,000 square feet of foliage of trees and plants. Sounds like an enjoyable stay in a forest but in an atas way.
The hotel’s biophilic design is further reflected through its earthy tones, tropical themed wallpaper and wooden finishes, a signature of the Park Royal Collection brand. World renowned DP Architects and FDAT were behind the luxurious architectures and interiors of the hotel.
When they mean sustainable, they are not kidding around as the hotel has even incorporated it into their cuisine and the names of their dining establishments such as the Botanist Lounge and Thyme Restaurant.
The latter uses sustainably sourced local seasonal ingredients with a gastronomical theatre concept, which is fancy speak for chefs who put on a performance as they cook. Maybe after paying for a meal here, we also must eat grass *sobs*.
Don’t you just hate it when you go to hotels and you have keep calling room service for more water or have to constantly keep boiling water using their electric kettles? Happily, the hotel rooms are equipped with filtered drinking water filters.
Other environmentally conscious choices they have made are sustainable bathroom amenities, biodegradable packaging, and a food-waste management system. Wah, impressive!
Instead of heading over to Pavilion to shop, you might also want to spend all day just lounging at their gorgeous outdoor swimming pool instead or the St Gregory spa on their holistic wellness floor.
