Marketed as Malaysia’s first Muslim‑friendly, Hanok‑inspired Korean wellness retreat, KANTIK is not just another spa opening, it is a curated sanctuary built around privacy, sensory immersion, and the ritualistic calm of Korean healing traditions.

We were recently invited to experience one of their most popular combinations: the Premium Head Spa + Hydro Facial (Member RM475, Non-Member RM525), a 105‑minute journey that blends scalp therapy, holistic facial care, and the kind of tension‑melting ambience that makes time feel irrelevant.

A private serene sanctuary

KANTIK’s design is its first act of hospitality. Inspired by the clean lines and earthy textures of hanok architecture, the space immediately envelops you in warm lighting, natural stone, and acoustics that seem to hush the world behind you.

Privacy is a key focus: fully enclosed treatment rooms, women‑only areas, and separate corridors help ensure comfort for Muslim guests.

Smooth & easy process

From check-in onwards, the customer journey is designed to be smooth and fuss-free. After a brief welcome and some cups of tea in the reception area, we were brought directly into their private suite consistent with the spa’s commitment to full discretion and Muslim‑friendly design, where every guest receives service in complete privacy accompanied by soft lighting and a calming soundscape

The Premium Head Spa + Hydro Facial at KANTIK by GOYO begins with an AI-powered scalp analysis that magnifies the scalp to reveal hydration levels, oil buildup, and areas of sensitivity, allowing the therapist to map out pressure points and adjust the treatment plan using data.

Once the consultation ends, the therapist begins with aromatherapy to regulate breathing and ease the transition into relaxation, using a warm towel around the neck to slowly release superficial tension before touching the scalp.

The first hands‑on phase is a massage where the therapist performs tension mapping across the scalp. Afterwards, an exfoliating cleanser is applied to prepare the scalp for deeper massage.

A hydrating mask is then applied to lock in moisture, and while it rests, the therapist continues working on the shoulders or temples to maintain relaxation. Once the mask is removed, skincare layers—toner, serum, and moisturiser—are applied based on the skin needs. The facial results are immediate, smoother texture, reduced puffiness, and improved hydration.

As part of the Hydro Facial, the therapist starts with a double cleanse. Once the skin is prepped, the hydro-exfoliation device is used to clear congested pores and remove dead skin cells while simultaneously infusing hydrating micro-serums. The suction used is gentle, making the process more comfortable and in line with KANTIK’s calming philosophy. After the device work, the therapist performs a manual facial massage, this includes jaw-sculpting strokes, upward cheek lifting motions, brow manipulation to ease forehead tension, and long strokes along the neck to support drainage.

The treatment then transitions into the spa’s signature Waterfall Rinse, one of the most recognisable features of KANTIK’s head spa rituals. Instead of a standard wash, the therapist performs a slow, continuous pour of warm water over the scalp, inspired by Korean onsen-style rinsing traditions. After the rinse, a light conditioning product is applied and combed through the hair to finish the session on a comforting note.
