Most of us are multilingual in Malaysia, but 60-year-old Putih Dalib's language skills are next level.

The cheerful sexagenarian, who speaks fluent English, Spanish and Japanese, recently won the Best Tourist Guide (City) Award at the Terengganu Tourism and Culture Award (APKT) 2018/2019.
"Being able to speak and converse in several languages allows me to become a tour guide on a part-time basis."

"It’s a pleasant job, because you meet and make friends with many people," she was quoted as saying.

Inspired to do better

According to a report by New Straits Times, Putih, who hailed from Kuala Ibai, took home RM1,000 cash and a trophy for her win.

Despite being in the business since 2008, this was the first ever award for Putih.

She said that her win inspires her to provide the best for her clients who are mainly from Japan, China and other European countries.
