If you are still planning on travelling back to your hometown by bus or train this Chinese New Year, you might want to find another way.

All tickets for bus and train journeys to the north and east coast are sold out!

According to a report by Bernama, bus tickets at the Southern Integrated Terminal (TBS) for the Klang Valley to Kota Bahru and Kuala Terengganu from 13 to 15 February, as well as for return trips between 18 and 21 February are all taken.

As for the first two days of Chinese New Year itself, almost 60 per cent of the tickets to the north and east coast have all been sold out as well.

You might want to consider driving or flying north this year.
The tickets were reportedly sold out within a month because people had started booking their tickets online as early as November.

City folks are surely working fast this year!

On the other hand, if you're travelling to southern states like Melaka and Johor this festive season, you're still in luck because the bus tickets are still available. So get your tickets as soon as possible before they all run out!

Train tickets at the Kuala Lumpur Sentral Station from the Klang Valley to the north betwee 13 and 15 February are also sold out.

Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) told Bernama that people had begun purchasing their tickets online and at the counter since three months ago to avoid congestion. These tickets were all gone by January.

However, train tickets to southern destinations and Singapore are still available, so wait no longer. You wouldn't want your parents or grandparents to start nagging at you for doing things last minute this Chinese New Year.
