For those of you who have been waiting for the durian season to arrive, wait no longer, because it’s finally here!

Well fret not, because according to a durian seller, the prices for the coveted King of Fruits have gone down thanks to the increase in supply.
The New Straits Times reported that durian prices were initially higher at the start of the season, but has now gradually decreased as the supply has increased.
“At the start of the season, the price of durians was high because there was limited supply but now that we are well into the season, the supply has gone up which in turn has brought down the prices,” Durian Kaki co-owner Tan Chee Wei told the English daily.
“The cheapest fruit you can get is a mixed breed for RM8 per kilo and the most expensive is still the Blackthorn at RM60 per kilo.”
However, the pocket-friendly durian season will not last long as durian sellers are expecting prices to fluctuate again at the end of the season, which is in August, as they are preparing for a drop in supplies.
So durian lovers, don’t wait too long to get your durian fix, unless you want your wallet to get into a thorny-predicament.
