Burglar Dies After Suffering Heart Attack During Ipoh Home Break-In

Life has a way of reminding us that not everything goes according to plan.

That was exactly the case for a pair of burglars whose break-in attempt took an unexpected turn when one of them suddenly died.

Perak Police Chief Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin said a 40-year-old suspect was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel during an attempted break-in.

According to a report, the suspect and an accomplice entered a house along Jalan Building Society in Taman Star after prying open a window at around 5 AM on 28 July.

However, the intrusion was spotted by the house caretaker, who subsequently got into a scuffle with the two burglars.

During the struggle, one suspect managed to flee the scene, while the other suddenly collapsed and lost consciousness. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem later confirmed that the suspect died from a blocked coronary artery.

The case has been classified as a sudden death. Meanwhile, the attempted break-in is being investigated under Sections 457 and 324 of the Penal Code for housebreaking and voluntarily causing hurt with a weapon.

Police are currently working to identify and track down the suspect's accomplice.
