When it comes to having a roof over our heads, we sometimes struggle to decide between staying really far away from the city because it is more affordable or do the best we can to manage the expensive rent for the sake of convenience.
Now, the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) may have found a solution for this following the concept of capsule hotels.
According to Bernama, the city hall is planning to build micro homes to be rented out to low-income unmarried working adults living in the capital this year.
The rooms may be rented out from as low as RM100 a month!
This effort was introduced to help singles who belong in the B40 group with their housing requirements before they are able to afford a more comfortable home in the future.
The first micro home project will reportedly be at an old DBKL building located in Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman.
The building will be transformed into two separate blocks, one for men and another for women, each with 120 rooms, which can accommodate up to 200 people.
Of course, this capsule hotel concept is targeted at individuals who have probably just started working and earning a low income because there will only be bathing and sleeping facilities available. There won't be any place to cook.
Nevertheless, we are looking forward to how this initiative will pan out later this year!
