Guys, if you live around mosquito-infected areas, beware; dengue cases are on the rise.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad told The Star Online that a total of 72,356 dengue cases were reported from January to July this year, an 89.5 per cent increase from the same period last year.

Whoa! That's a lot of cases.

To make matters worse, the minister also revealed that the number of fatalities had risen to 108, up from 61 last year. That’s almost double the number!

"There was a surge in dengue cases starting in May this year, a drastic increase as compared to the corresponding period in 2018, which recorded 38,190 cases," he was quoted by the online as saying.

Dr Dzulkefly added that Selangor recorded the highest number of dengue cases with 40,849. Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya recorded 8,794 cases, while Johor recorded 6,057 cases.

Looks like it's dengue season, so remember to make sure that your house is clear from dengue breeding spots.

You don't want to be living with these monsters!
