Egyptian Goes Missing After Falling Into The Sea From A Hotel Balcony
Langkawi is a popular tourist destination and receives thousands of visitors each year. A lot of people from around the world flock to the island for an unforgettable experience. But for one couple, their trip proved to be an ‘unforgettable’ one for all the wrong reasons.
An Egyptian man, identified as Yahya Yousry Mohamad Al-Sayid, 27, is reportedly missing at sea after falling off his hotel room balcony in Langkawi. The incident occurred at 4pm yesterday at the Berjaya Hotel Resort.

His wife reported the incident to the hotel staff. The pair had been staying at the hotel prior to the incident. A search and rescue (SAR) mission was set up at 4.30pm involving personnel from the Malaysia Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA), the Fire and Rescue Department, the Civil Defence Department, and police.According to MMEA northern region maritime director First Admiral Tan Kok Kwee, efforts to find the Egyptian man have been unsuccessful due to "stormy weather and strong waves."
The SAR operations are scheduled to resume today. There are no updates on the mission or his whereabouts at the time of posting so far.
