Many people around the world choose to undergo cosmetic surgery to enhance or adjust certain parts of their bodies. While these procedures were uncommon back in the day, they have now become a familiar option for those looking to improve their appearance.
However, it’s important to remember that these procedures can pose serious health risks, especially when performed by unqualified individuals.

Recently, the Ministry of Health (MOH) identified three cosmetic procedures that have been deemed illegal in Malaysia. These include breast fillers, buttock fillers, and IV (intravenous) Vitamin C infusions, as they pose significant health risks to those undergoing them.
Breast and buttock fillers have long been categorised as high-risk procedures. They can lead to complications such as infections if not performed in a sterile environment or if proper hygiene protocols are ignored. Additionally, these procedures may trigger allergic reactions in individuals sensitive to the filler materials used.
Other risks include irregularities, lump formation, and even migration or displacement of the fillers.

As for the IV Vitamin C infusion procedure, it carries the potential risk of infection if the infusions are not verified as safe or if the procedure is conducted in an unsterile environment.
