Husbands can soon voluntary transfer two percent of their Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) contributions to their wife's account, Bernama reported.

EPF chairman Tan Sri Ahmad Badri Mohd Zahir told the news agency that they will be launching the i-Sayang facility to enabale husbands to do so.

The facility will reportedly be launched in the first quarter of 2022, Ahmad Badri revealed.

On top of that, he further revealed that the retirement fund is look set to launch another facility called i-Lindung.

The i-Lindung facility enables EPF members to withdraw their savings from their Account 2 to purchase life and critical illness insurance through its platform.

“Other initiatives we are exploring include the gradual approach towards mandating legal EPF coverage to non-agriculture informal sector workers.

“We will also be advocating our voluntary excess scheme where members can compel their employers to increase their EPF contribution to more than the 11 per cent statutory rate,” Ahmad Badri was quoted as saying.

So, all the husbands out there, it's time you put your money where your mouth is.
