It really seems like all odds are against our medical frontliners.

With supplies running low in some areas and staff themselves getting infected with COVID-19, it is heartwarming to see how they continue to push on.

Of course, every kind of help, small or big is warmly welcomed.

For the Clinical Research Centre at Hospital Sibu, help came in a big - neigh - huge way recently.

Big help for the center

The centre received a machine worth RM148,000 meant for COVID-19 testing given by an anonymous donor.

According to a report by Malaysiakini, the donation was made through Sarawak Assistant Minister for Education, Science and Technological Research, Dr Annuar Rapa’ee.

The machine called the ‘Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Detection System’ will help medical staff increase the capacity of COVID-19 tests.

The hospital now has two such machines.

What a much-needed gift of hope for the hospital and the community.
