If Malaysians are badly effected by the high cost of living, this certainly didn't show.

Twelve units of the super limited edition Volkswagen Beetle has been snapped up online - in less than 20 minutes!

In a special collaboration with online shopping site Lazada, the Beetles were put on sale as part of its Revolution Mega-sale, which lasts til 14 December.

The Beetles were so popular, in fact, Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) said in a statement cited by The New Straits Times that the first one was sold just 26 seconds after it went on sale.

The rest were snapped up even before you have the time to finish an episode of 'Gerak Khas'.

Which one would you pick?
According to VPCM, two variants of the Beetle were made available: the 'Herbie 53' in Pure White and White Silver, and the 'Hot Bug' version in Tornado Red.

The special Beetles were sold for RM112,112 each, which is 18 per cent cheaper than its original retail price.

It comes with a 5.8-inch touchscreen, a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel and a 'Pepita' fabric seat trim covers. Under the hood, it boasts a 1.2l turbocharged TSI engine and a 7-speed automatic transmission.

And to top it all off, it comes with a five-year manufacturer warranty and five-year roadside assistance.

Darn, now we're super jealous of those 12 people who bought the car.
