Malaysian Tamil Movie 'Pulanaivu' Named Best Crime Thriller Film At Toronto Tamil Film Festival
It's time to celebrate you guys!
A local Tamil movie has bagged the Best Crime Thriller Feature Film Award at the Toronto International Tamil Film Festival!
The movie 'Pulanaivu' directed by husband and wife duo Shalini Balasundaram and Sathish Natarajan was released in November last year.
On Facebook, an elated Shalini thanked everyone involved.
"It’s an honour and an overwhelming moment to announce that Pulanaivu has received the Best Crime Thriller Feature Film Award in Toronto International Tamil Film Festival, competing along other awesome tamil films from all over the world.
"We would like to take this opportunity to thank every individual who has been directly or indirectly part of this project, not forgetting our technicians, cast and most importantly our loving audience who have supported this film since day one.
"We are more than glad to share this joy and gratitude infinitely," she wrote.

A thrilling ride

The movie, which stars Datin Seri Shaila V, Shalini herself and actors Kabil Ganesan and Saran Manokaran revolve around a female police officer and her investigations relating to a murder which takes place at a college.

Meanwhile, Shaila, posted about the win on Instagram and explained that the movie had bested many other notable contenders in the category.
She also said that the success of the movie itself boiled down to the excellant teamwork of everyone involved.
According to a report by Malay Mail, the film had also received two awards at the 11th Norway Tamil Film Festival this year - Best Actress for Shaila and Best Screenplay for Shalini and Sathish.
Such a proud moment for the local film industry.
