What about ninja studies?

If you're interested, a course to bring out your inner ninja is available in Japan.

In fact, the country produced its first ninja studies graduate recently.

According to a report in AFP, Genichi Mitsuhashi spent two years learning the art, and he later completed the master’s course at Mie University.

The 45-year-old reportedly learnt that ninjas worked as farmers in the morning and trained in martial arts in the afternoon.

So, he grew vegetables by day and at the same time, worked on his martial arts techniques, in addition to ninja study in the classroom.

Learning about the ways of the ninja

“With this combination, I thought I could learn about the real ninja,” he said.

If you are interested in ninja studies, you have to enrol into Mie University because it has set up the world’s first research centre devoted to ninja studies in 2017.

They successfully opened a graduate course in 2018.

A professor of Japanese history at the university in charge of the ninja centre said to enrol in ninja studies, students would have to take an exam on Japanese history and a reading test on historical ninja documents.

However, Yuji Yamada had a word of caution, especially for overseas students who are thinking of enrolling.
