Melakan Man Jailed After He Punched His Sister Until She Bled Over an Argument About a Fart

One man apparently didn’t appreciate being told that he stinks. In Melaka, 37- year-old Ridzuan Samsudin was sentenced to seven days in jail after injuring his sister after they argued about his farting habits.

As reported by NST, the argument began when Rizuan farted and laughed. His sister then reprimanded him and raised past issues. The enraged mechanic then hit and punched his sister, Nurul Hanis Samsudin on her nose and mouth multiple times, causing her mouth to bleed and swell.

The incident occurred in the backseat of a car at the Lotus supermarket on Jalan Peringgit, Melaka Tengah, on 11 September around 11 am.

This led to a police report being filed. Upon being medically examined, it was found that the 32-year-old woman had suffered soft tissue injuries to her mouth, right cheek, and left forehead.

Ridzuan admitted to the charge at the Ayer Keroh Magistrate's Court before Magistrate Khairunnisak Hassni. Deputy public prosecutor Wardah Ishhar called for a suitable punishment due to the injury caused.

Under Section 323 of the Penal Code, the charge carries a penalty of up to two years in prison, a maximum fine of RM2,000, or both.

Ridzuan, who was unrepresented, requested a lighter sentence because he said he had financial responsibilities toward his wife and six children.

The man was then sentenced to seven days in jail, beginning from his arrest on 14 September.
