Ever since the Movement Control Order (MCO) kicked off on 18 March, Malaysians are shopping online more than ever.
We’ve seen how our hardworking all of our Abang PosLaju are, working tirelessly to deliver our stuff in a timely manner and many of us think that they deserve a raise or a bonus.
However, Pos Malaysia recently made an announcement that not only upset their staff members, but Malaysians as well.

Malaysians are livid

According to Malaysiakini, Pos Malaysia Berhad may not be giving out its annual bonus this year following the financial constraints due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Working hard all day, every day to get your parcels delivered. A source from the company told the daily that they are working on stabilising their cash flow.
“The current financial situation and cash flow of the company isn’t good for bonuses,” the source told Malaysiakini.
Despite the financial difficulties faced by the company, they will not be laying off their staff or implementing the Voluntary Separation Scheme (VSS) anytime soon.
On social media, netizens were outraged after a story about a postman who was stunned by the news went viral.
Tadi lepas abg Posmen ni selesai hantar surat dan barang yg aku beli online tu,ada org call dia, lepas jawab call tu dia terus duduk termenung disitu dalam keadaan basah lencun, masa tu tengah hujan lebat, aku tengok muka dia memang nampak sedih pic.twitter.com/tkYZV3IAzy— Aisyah Humairah (@aisyah9009) May 16, 2020 He appeared sad after hearing the news that they won't be getting a bonus after all the hard work they've done, especially during MCO.
Upon hearing his plight, some Malaysians felt as if that the company isn’t doing enough for its employees and others felt that it’s time to boycott Pos Malaysia’s services and encourage their workers to go on strike until they take care of their employee’s welfare.
There were also others who claims that their basic salary has been the same for the past 20 years.
Apa alasan tak dapat bagi? Sepanjang pkp business kau jalan kot!— EjenHangSupSapSup™ (@HarisAdams23) May 17, 2020
Tak kira naik van, naik motor. Diorang plg bertungkus lumus semasa ni.
Pihak syarikat dah dapat keuntungan berganda, tak akan kedekut lagi?— Aidi ER (@aidi_ezzhar) May 17, 2020 We hope that Pos Malaysia will reconsider their decision because most Malaysians will agree that if there's anyone who deserves a pay raise or bonus now besides our frontliners, it's our Abang Posmen and PosLaju.
