The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) previously announced that the next round of AstraZeneca vaccine opt-in registration would be opened today (Wednesday, 26 May) at 12pm.

Netizens waited anxiously in front of their laptops and smartphones as early as 11am but was disappointed when they couldn’t access the site.

MOSTI then rectified some issues and said booking would be opened at 12.15pm instead, and chaos immediately ensued.

“Baik jadi anti-vaksin kalau macam ni”

All geared up for nothing...
From not being able to select the state of choice or even getting through the registration page, thousands of people struggled to secure their slots.

Surely, after barely an hour all the slots have appeared to be booked and the registration was closed soon after.

Irritated netizens took their frustration to social media to vent their disappointment on the whole process which to be quite frank, felt like booking tickets to a highly-sought after K-pop concert.

Some questioned how could the ministry spent millions of Ringgits on such a server, while some said they might as well become anti-vaccine by the way things are. Others even tried to cure their broken hearts with some humour.

We hope that the authorities will improve their servers and user experience soon as a lot of people would be discouraged from getting vaccinated.
