In addition to the public sector, Anwar also encouraged the private sector to adopt similar arrangements, as already practised by some companies and banking institutions.

“Other measures are being considered, including decisions to introduce more flexible work regulations such as working from home. Civil servants will be allowed to work from home on a gradual and selective basis, and I believe, God willing, that beyond the public sector, we are also urging the private sector to implement similar measures as have long been practised by several companies and banks,” he said.

He made the remarks while delivering a Special Address on the country’s strategic measures to strengthen preparedness in facing the global energy crisis arising from the conflict in West Asia.

Malaysia continues to be an active investment destination

Anwar stressed that the government remains committed to maintaining fiscal discipline, including preventing leakages and wastage, while ensuring that the country’s economic growth momentum remains positive despite global uncertainty.

He noted that although the world is facing an economic slowdown, Malaysia continues to be an active investment destination, with strong foreign investor interest remaining despite ongoing global conflicts and crises.

He added that the country must remain peaceful and its people must continue to work diligently, as every test and challenge presents an opportunity to improve and enhance national capabilities.
