Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Abd Jalil Hassan confirmed that the preacher is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code, Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act.
Public asked not to speculate
According to the press release shared on PDRM's official social media, the police will investigate the matter before handing over the case to the Attorney General Chambers.
Abdul Jalil also reminded the public to not speculate or provoke any parties to ensure proper investigation can be done.
He also asked the public to refrain from sharing any materials that could jeopardise the case.
According to a report on Harian Metro, the preacher is being investigated after a video of someone who looks like him involved in obscene acts went viral on social media.
The preacher has denied any allegations against him and even said that he has forgiven whoever made the allegation.
