PTPTN Repayment Deferment, No Travel Ban For Those Earning Less Than RM4,000
One of the key points in Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) manifesto for the 14th General Election is that those who are earning below RM4,000 will be able to postpone their repayment of the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) loan.
It was listed as one of the 10 promises the new government aims to fulfill within the first 100 days of administration.
Now that PH had won, those who took out PTPTN loans are wondering when this promise will come into effect.
After Dr. Maszlee Malik was appointed the Minister of Education, he immediately addressed the issue.
According to a report by The Star, the Simpang Renggam MP is working on it and will meet with the Immigration Department soon to discuss lifting the bans on PTPTN loan defaulters.
“We will discuss with the Immigration Department regarding the blacklisted borrowers that aren’t allowed to leave the country,” he told reporters during the handover ceremony on Wednesday.
Maszlee also added that he’s confident that borrowers will repay the loans and that there will be more payments made in the future.

We can’t wait until the travelling ban is lifted and the loan deferment officially take place! And we know a lot of you guys out there too are looking forward to it too.
