Pulau Gaya villagers in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah recently caught a gigantic crocodile weighing 200kg and measuring 4.4m in length!

According to a report by The Star, the crocodile was first spotted roaming around the waters near the island, and videos of the reptile went viral on social media.

The residents captured the reptile on the same day, around 5pm and reported the incident to the state Civil Defence Force.



“When the Bravo squad of five arrived in their boat, they found the crocodile tied up.

“The team proceeded to secure the bindings and cover its head with a cloth before transporting it to Tanjung Aru at 8.58pm.

Released back into the wild

“Another team of five from Delta squad, who were waiting at the tower, assisted in moving the reptile to the Sabah Wildlife Department lorry.

“The transport process was completed by 1.03am (yesterday),” said the Civil Defence Force in a statement.

The report added that the crocodile had been sent to the Lok Kawi Wildlife Park rescue centre for a health inspection and released back to the wild.
