Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced the appointment of new members of the MADANI Government administration.

He said the move was necessary following vacancies in the Cabinet and the need for minor adjustments.

Previously, the MADANI Government Cabinet had four vacant ministerial portfolios.

This follows the resignation of the Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Datuk Ewon Benedick, on 8 November, after the Minister of Economy, Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli, also resigned effective 17 June following his failure to retain the position of Deputy President in the PKR elections in May.

The Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, also resigned effective 4 July after losing the PKR Vice President election, while the position of Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry became vacant after Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz’s term as Senator ended.

Changes made

The appointments are part of a restructuring effort aimed at strengthening administrative efficiency and ensuring more effective implementation of government policies.

"This is so the Cabinet can work as one team, focus on revitalising economic growth, and resolve the people’s problems. I will only announce ministers whose portfolios have changed and new appointments. Those who remain unchanged will not be mentioned," he said.
