It looks like the number of COVID-19 cases in our country is increasing at an alarming rate day by day.

Public places such as shopping malls have recorded a handful of positive cases and now it seems that the virus has crept into theme parks.

In an announcement, Sunway Lost World of Tambun in Perak has confirmed that they will be temporarily closing down after a visitor is suspected to be positive for COVID-19.

Both its theme park and hotel will be closed for 14 days until 26 October for sanitisation and deep cleaning works throughout their premises.

The theme park’s management says that the Health Ministry is undergoing contact tracing and if you are a close contact of the positive case, the ministry will notify you.

“We would like to assure all that the safety and health of our visitors, guests and partners are our topmost priority, and we endeavour to provide timely and accurate information to all of you.

No more theme parks for now?
“Please stay calm as we continue to work with the relevant government authorities and the MoH in addressing this matter,” the statement said.

Malaysians praised thetheme park for being quick to announce the case and the closure of the theme park and wished them all the best.
