Two Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) have emerged as grand winners in the virtual Asean Data Science Explorers (Asean DSE) national final.

News Straits Times reported that the Asean DSE is a regional programme organised by the ASEAN Foundation and SAP that aims to catalyse activism and critical thinking among university students.

The two winners, Oscar Fang Jack Ling and Quah Chun Meng winning project was on digital integration in the competition hosted by the Asean Foundation and SAP.

From here, the two will be representing Malaysia at the regional final of the Asean DSE.

The second and third spots were won respectively by Mohd Fahad Saleem and Viknesa Vetrivelan from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and Imperium International College, as well as Nikola Adiprasetya and How Jo Yi from Sunway University and Monash University Malaysia.

The winners competed out against 852 youths across the region cto represent their country in the National Finals.
