What was supposed to be a normal routine for an e-hailing driver took a turn for the worse when he encountered an intoxicated passenger who suddenly became aggressive.
In a video shared online, the passenger was seen slamming the passenger-side door shut before screaming and shouting.
It is understood that the intoxicated passenger was travelling with a friend, but he began acting aggressively, prompting his companion to pull him out of the car.
The situation later escalated when the man started kicking the rear of the vehicle, prompting the e-hailing driver to exit his car.

The intoxicated passenger then repeatedly shouted at the driver, demanding that he “go back”, before once again kicking the driver’s car.
Despite efforts by his companion to calm him down, the man continued behaving aggressively, eventually causing his friend to step aside as the situation escalated further.
The driver later called the emergency hotline for assistance. At the time of writing, there have been no updates on the incident.
Netizens were not having it
Unsurprisingly, Malaysians who watched the video were unhappy with the passenger’s behaviour. While many condemned the intoxicated man, others praised the driver for remaining calm throughout the ordeal.
“Non-Muslim friends, can you please advise others that if you want to get drunk, please do so, but don’t disturb others? Don’t allow it to happen to your own family members.”
One user said, “Maybe Grab should consider an option for drivers to cancel rides involving intoxicated passengers. This is dangerous and troublesome for drivers.”

“When you’re drunk and you drive a car, you end up running over someone or driving recklessly. When you take a Grab, you end up vandalising the driver’s car. I’m not sure what to do with these drunk people.”
Another said, “Kudos to the Grab driver. He remained very calm. If the drunk passenger had met another driver with a temper, he might have ended up spending the night in a ditch.”
