It is also believed that the incident was caused by the boy wearing rubber sandals, possibly Crocs—which led to his foot getting trapped.

The incident has sparked concern among social media users, especially parents, who urged others not to let their children wear rubber sandals, as they are prone to getting caught in escalators.
Others advised parents to either carry their young children when using escalators or opt for elevators to prevent such accidents.
“This happens way too often. Parents with small children, please be careful. If possible, make your children wear proper shoes instead of rubber sandals like Crocs.”

One user shared, “Please be cautious when using escalators. I had a similar experience where my son's shoelaces got caught. Luckily, I was quick enough to remove his shoes. I'm now traumatised and won’t let my kids wear shoes with laces. Rubber sandals are just as dangerous.”
