After decades of making vehicles with four wheels, some carmakers venture into creating something different. Some do perfumes; most are grounded in aviation. Not wanting to give their bulls wings, Lamborghini is taking their bull to the seas in the form of the Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63.

Developed by Italian Sea Group, with several collaborative design sessions with Lamborghini's Centro Stile, their in-house design centre, to craft the highly anticipated motor yacht project. Taking inspiration from the Lamborghini Sián FKP 37, the first-ever hybrid Lamborghini, a distinct and unique design emerged, never before seen on the high seas before.

The sporty silhouette of the yacht has been clearly influenced by Lamborghini's supercars. The hull and superstructure developed by naval engineers specialising in hydrodynamic sciences. The clean, sharp lines of the yacht are a contemporary interpretation of legendary designer Marcello Gandini's work on the Miura and Countach supercars from the '60s and '70s.

Lamborghini's design input is clear to see on the hexagonal design elements o the swim platform and overall design of the side windows. Even the Y-motif theme can be found on the bow light fixtures of the yacht. It pays homage to the Lamborghini concept car Terzo Millennio and to the Sián FKP 37, both distinctive for their Y-shaped front lights. The hardtop, on the other hand, has been modelled after Lamborghini roadster models, providing a certain level of exposure to the elements, while blending superior aerodynamic performance.

The interior of Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 has also been heavily influenced by Lamborghini, with the latest modern designs complementing the Made in Italy heritage. The instrument panel mimics that of Lamborghini vehicles but in a nautical style, incorporating all the navigational and control instruments. The helm of the yacht is truly special as it is finished in carbon fibre, with Lamborghini carbon seats as well as a Lamborghini steering wheel found on their road cars.

The interior, as well as exterior materials and colour schemes, are entirely customisable under the Lamborghini's Ad Personam programme, the same programme offered to all Lamborghini owners. Such is the meticulous attention to detail, even the two start/stop buttons for each of the yacht's engines are lifted directly from Lamborghini sports cars.

On the topic of engines, the Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 comes equipped with two MAN V12 engines, each producing a massive 2000hp. Despite being 63ft long and 18ft wide, the yacht weighs in at only 24 tons, thanks to the extensive use of carbon fibre in the construction of the hull and superstructure. With a total 4000hp propelling this ultra-lightweight yacht through the water, Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 can reach a top speed of 60 knots or 112kph, making it the fastest boat in the Tecnomar fleet.

Available for delivery from 2021 onwards, the Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 is not just an exercise in style and design; it represents the vanguard in luxury speed boats. Inspired by Lamborghini super sports cars' performance, the most significant innovative features at the heart of the concept are speed and the dynamism of lightweight engineering.
