Rock the World is undoubtedly one of Malaysia's most iconic rock shows, serving Malaysians their dose of hardwired music for over a decade.

After a few years of silence, Rock the World emerges from the shadows to bring you another round of electrifying guitar music, as we reported here.

Like most festivals, Rock the World announced the lineup in phases: the first one included the likes of Kelantanese punk trio No Good, Nu-metal giants Pop Shuvit, noise rock quartet Sweetass and indie darlings The Times.

The second and third phases saw bootboy pioneers ACAB, Plague of Happiness, Seven Collar T-Shirt, Monoloque and Republic of Brickfields on the setlist. Founder and organiser Lo will also be performing at the event.

But the news that truly rocked the music scene was the Cromok’s inclusion as the event's main headliner.

If you’ve never heard of the band, Cromok consists of Shamsudin Ali (Sam), Tarmizi Mokhtar (Miji) and Khairul Anuar Shariff (Karl). The trio started Cromok in Australia during their student days alongside another member, Kharuddin Muhammad (Din). Sadly, Din passed away in 1997, leaving the trio to continue their musical journey.

Cromok plays thrash metal and is said to be the pioneer of Malaysian version of the genre. Known for songs like ‘Another You’, ‘I Don’t Belong Here’, ‘Misty’ and ‘Metallurgical’, Cromok produced eight albums during their time and even managed to open for Metallica during their KL stop!

This will be Cromok’s first time on stage at Rock the World and fans are eager to see the trio live together with other heavyweights on the day itself.
