Earlier this year, 90s kids were blessed with one of the greatest news to kick off their year – a ‘Lizzie McGuire’ reboot is in the works and Hilary Duff will return to reprise her iconic role.

True enough, in August, Disney announced at the D23 expo that the ‘Lizzie McGuire’ revival will be streaming on the upcoming Disney+ platform.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, in the new version of the popular sitcom, Lizzie is now a 30-year-old millennial navigating life in New York City, while working as an assistant to a fancy New York City decorator.

And in case you’re wondering when we will be treated to the premiere episode of the reboot, well, Hilary Duff recently shared a photo that’ll make your heart beat 10 times faster.

Lizzie's mom looks the same, it's like she hasn't aged a day!
Hilary shared a photo with the original cast members from the show – Hallie Todd, Robert Carradine and Jake Thomas, who played Lizzie's mom, dad and brother in the original series - with the caption: “We are standing in what will soon be the McGuire living room. What’s up fam. We doin this #lizziemcguire #disneyplus.”

The gang reportedly reunited for the first time in 15 years for a read-through of the pilot.

Besides her fictional family, the beloved witty animated version of Lizzie will also appear in the new series.

"Just like there is no Lizzie McGuire without Hilary Duff, there is no McGuire family without Hallie, Robert and Jake," Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer, Disney Channels Worldwide, said in a statement.

The animated Lizzie will reportedly be a younger version of herself.
No word yet on whether her friends in the series will reprise their roles, but let’s hope we’ll see some familiar faces too.

Are you guys super excited for the reboot? We know we are, because our inner 10-year-old is already screaming just looking at the photo.
