If you grew up watching a lot of Studio Ghibli’s films, it’s safe to say you’ve had a great childhood.

But have you ever wondered how the films would look like if they were to be adapted into live-action movies one day?

Well, we might not be getting any live-action remakes anytime soon, but a talented photographer recently made a special project to honour the female leads from nine of Miyazaki’s popular films.

“Introducing my last project 'Miyazaki's Heroines', a series of 9 different stories recreating the heroines of Hayao Miyazaki's (宮崎 駿, co-founder of Studio Ghibli) films,” Xenia Lau wrote via her Behance account.

“Finding the characters through a more realistic, sincere and personal vision in a contemporary real life.”

Netizens were impressed with the series of photos inspired by Miyazaki’s films and many praised the photographer for coming up with the concept.

Some of the photos taken were almost as accurate as the scenes from the animated movies, and we absolutely love them!
