ESCAPE Penang is already known for being a top-tier destination up north, especially with two Guinness World Record feats for their longest tube slide and zip coaster. On top of that, the nature-themed adventure park boasts a number of other attractions including water attractions and a chairlift.

For their 10th anniversary celebrations, ESCAPE Penang went all out and introduced two brand new attractions on their grounds.

First, Malaysia’s very own Ski Slope, the first tropical setting ski slope around. Dubbed to be beginner-friendly, the ski slope is 302-metre-long and created from special material for ski and snowboard enthusiasts.

The Ski Slope was built over a defunct road, which was also formerly the construction site of the Teluk Bahang Dam. Now you can enjoy the wonders of skiing without having to wear thick winter clothes!

In conjunction with the launch of the attraction, Sim Leisure Group, the owners of the park, invited Malaysia’s very own 18-year-old Olympic-level Alpine Skier, Aruwin Salehuddin to bless the Ski Slope with her skills.

Aruwin, who started skating at the age of two years old, admitted that the Ski Slope was smooth and great for ski enthusiasts - especially beginners.

Another attraction was unleashed on the same day as the Ski Slope: ESCAPE Penang’s very own Dead Sea Pool. Inspired by Jordan’s famous Dead Sea, now Penang has its own floating wonder of a pool. To commemorate the pool, ESCAPE Penang invited Harith Iskander to try it out - and he was not disappointed.

The founder of Sim Leisure group also revealed that there’ll be more ESCAPE themed parks across Malaysia with Ipoh one of their most likely destinations.
