(REVIEW) Burger & Lobster Resorts World Genting Launches New Menu Featuring 13 New Items
When it comes to eateries that serve fresh and delicious lobsters as well as juicy burgers, Burger & Lobster is certainly up there as one of the best. The world-famous London-based eatery, which entered our shores with its Resorts World Genting outlet back in 2017, has made a reputation as a restaurant specialising in beef burgers and Nova Scotia lobsters.
Following its launch around seven years ago, Burger & Lobster Resorts World Genting recently decided to roll out a brand new menu with 13 exciting additions.
We were recently invited to try out these new menu additions, and here are our thoughts:
New menu featuring 13 additions
Burger & Lobster has made its stamp on the world as a restaurant specialising in beef burgers and Nova Scotia lobsters.
The new menu includes classics such as The Mayfair, Lobster Roll, and Classic Whole Lobster, along with new additions such as the Kimchi Roll, XO Lobster, Surf & Turf Roll, and many more.
As part of our review, we managed to try the Kimchi Roll, XO Lobster, Surf & Turf Roll, and the Smoked BBQ Smash Burger.
The Kimchi Roll (RM58) is made up of lobster, gochujang mayo, kimchi, cucumber, sesame seeds, and a toasted brioche roll. If you’ve had Burger & Lobster’s classic Lobster Roll, this is quite similar but with more of an Asian-Korean touch.
Kimchi lovers will adore this dish as it’s packed to the brim with kimchi that blends harmoniously with lobster meat to produce a sweet and salty bite. The succulent lobster paired with the tangy, spicy kick of kimchi and gochujang offers a unique and satisfying taste.
Next up was the XO Lobster (RM228), which was bursting with rich umami flavors. Canadian lobster is cooked in a spicy and salty XO sauce packed with spring onions and served with garlic-butter rice.
The XO sauce proved to be a flavor-bomb seafood relish with a mild spicy hit, while the garlic butter rice was the perfect companion to soak up all of the yummy sauce.
Out of the new menu additions, this was our favorite as the sauce was so delicious we were lapping it up even after we had finished eating all of the lobsters. As this dish is pretty huge, we recommend it for sharing between two to three people.
A trip to Burger & Lobster is not complete without having one of their burgers, so we opted for the Smoked BBQ Smash Burger (RM45).
The burger consists of a smashed double Black Angus beef patty, smoked provolone, smoked BBQ mayo, lettuce, and caramelised onion all in a potato bun. We loved how juicy the patties were, while the smoked provolone and smoked BBQ mayo gave the burger a smoky kick.
To cap things off, we decided to try out the Surf & Turf Roll (RM88), which features lobster meat in Japanese mayo on one side, and a mini beef patty and cheese on the other side, both in a toasted brioche roll. This also came with a side of Burger & Lobster’s famous lemon & garlic butter sauce.
We honestly preferred this over the Kimchi Roll as the taste of the lobster was much more prominent, while the beef roll was nice and unique tasting. This is perfect for those who are stuck between trying out the lobster or the burger.
Meanwhile, for dessert, we were served the Espresso Semi Freddo (RM20). The soft coffee semifreddo was reminiscent of tiramisu, and when paired with the caramel and sea salt, provided a sweet and delicious bite.
Additionally, some of the other highlights in the new menu include the Yucatan Chicken Roll (RM45), Texan Chicken Burger (RM50), Lobster Mac & Cheese (RM45), and Lobster Croquettes (RM22).
How fresh are the lobsters?
While we were there, we were also brought on a tour of the lobster hotel where they store their lobsters, which have been directly brought from Canada’s Nova Scotia region.
These massive lobster tanks have important temperature control and specialised water to ensure that the lobsters are super fresh and healthy.
Every week, either once or twice, the restaurant’s staff would have to transport these lobsters up and place them in the tanks in the restaurant. This is to ensure that the lobsters served and eaten at Burger & Lobster are always fresh.
