Supermarket and retail chain Mydin has been in the limelight for all the right reasons recently.

First, they won over people’s hearts after Mydin Mohamed Holdings Bhd managing director Datuk Ameer Ali Mydin forgave the people who stole from his hypermarket chain during the floods at Taman Sri Muda.

Then, the hypermarket came out with the ‘Ourdin’ campaign selling exclusive ‘Ourdin’ shirts where all the proceeds will go to flood victims.

Now, they have won over Twittersphere when an intern who was handling their social media site landed a permanent employment with them.

'Boleh saya jadi permanent?'

It all started when the much-loved admin for Mydin's Twitter page revealed that they were only an intern, and their internship would be ending on 31 December 2021.

The revelation stirred up plenty of emotions from Twitter users, with a majority of them asking the intern to stay on as the administrator as they did a good job of entertaining them on the social media page.

Some of them tweeted to ask Mydin to consider giving their Twitter admin intern a permanent job.

Several local companies such as cinema operator GSC and online video streaming service provider iQIYI were also waiting to pounce on the soon-to-be-jobless intern, as they tweeted to ask the intern to submit their resume to them instead.

In fact, one Twitter user went as far as threatening to unfollow the Mydin official account next month.

This prompted the witty admin to send out a tweet to the big boss Ameer Ali, asking him if he could remain with the company with a permanent position.

Well, that kinda did the trick.

On 1 January, Ameer Ali responded to intern's request by tweeting a simple ‘ok’.

Netizens celebrate!

Of course, netizens were elated to hear that their favourite Twitter admin landed a permanent position at Mydin, and they celebrated the intern's employment happily on social media.

Well done, Mydin Twitter account admin intern!

Now, that's one way to land a permanent job.
