To be honest, no one likes false advertising, right?

An advertiser advertises one thing, but the real thing sometimes doesn't come close to the advertised product.

Don't worry; you won't have this problem with this one goldfish shop in Penang.

Super honest 'advertising'

The Uncle Gold Fish shop located at Jalan Arumugan Pillai in Bukit Mertajam recently put up a banner at its storefront and it managed to capture the attention of many netizens.

'What's so special about that? Most shops put up banners,' we hear you ask.

Well, you're right, but the reason why Uncle Gold Fish's banner had netizens talking was not because of the product they were selling; it was the honest messaging on it.

Take a look:

"We don't know what to print. We just want to block out the sun," the banner read.

The banner first caught the eye of TikTok user @nightravelle, who posted the video on the social media account and it has since gone viral with more than 104,000 views.

Telling the truth

The owner of the shop, Kelvin Lim, told Malay Mail that the sun shines down directly on his shop, and he wanted to put up a banner to block the sunlight.

Not knowing what to put on the banner, Lim decided to just tell the truth.

“Many know my goldfish shop already and this banner was for the staff and I especially in the afternoon when it’s scorching hot and we need to protect ourselves from the heat.

“And we didn’t know what else to put on the banner except to tell the truth,” he was quoted as saying.

Well, we guess his banner kinda worked, because his shop has now gone viral. Hmm, maybe Lim did this on purpose?
