There are plenty of reasons for someone to call off a wedding: an unfaithful husband, getting the cold feet, normal reasons like that.

However, a woman in India decided to call off her wedding because her would-be husband sucks at mathematics.

We're not even joking.

Groom turns out to be uneducated

A woman from Uttar Pradesh, India has decided to not proceed with her wedding after her partner failed to recite the multiplication table of two, news portal shethepeople.tv reported.

According to the report, the woman had grown suspicious of her future husband’s educational qualifications, and had asked him to recite the multiplication table just before exchanging the garlands with him.

Easy peasy lemon squeezy, right? Unfortunately for the groom, who hails from the Dhawar village in the Mahoba district, he failed to do so.

The woman then called off the arranged marriage, telling stunned family members and villagers present at the ceremony that she simply would not marry a person "who does not know the basics of mathematics."

Despite persuasions from family members, the woman stood firm on her decision.

The bride’s cousin reportedly told the news portal that they were shocked to find out the groom was uneducated.

“The groom’s family had kept us in the dark about his education. He may not have even gone to school. The groom’s family has cheated us. But my brave sister walked out without fearing social taboo,” she was quoted by the news portal as saying.

Good on you, girl, for not settling and knowing what you want.
