Those who live in high rise buildings know the agony of waiting for the lift to arrive, so much so that many prefer to use the stairs instead.

However, imagine this. You want to take the stairs only to find that the stairs has gone missing!

While the situation is nearly impossible, it could still happen, as experienced by a woman from Atlanta, US.

According to a report in Times Now News, Olivia Crump lives in an apartment and was about to go out when she realised the front stairs of her apartment had completely disappeared!

She shared a video of the ordeal on her Tik Tok account where the stairs going down to the first floor from the second floor were not seen.

"When your apartment removes the stairs without warning and you’re stuck for hours," read the caption.

A man with work tools appeared in the video and suggested that the stairs was removed or demolished for repair.

The report quoted her interview with a news outlet saying that no notice was given prior to the staircases’ removal and hence, she was stuck at home for hours.

"It was impossible to get down without climbing over the ledge with a ladder or scaling the side with a decent drop below. We were stuck for nearly four hours until the worker finally told me I could come down, and me and my dog hopped on an unfinished step so I could let her outside," she was quoted as saying.

We would have panicked too if we were in her shoes!
