Just last month, Malaysia was rocked by a school violence case involving a teenage girl who allegedly stabbed another student at a school in Banting. The incident was not an isolated one. Last year, a similar case was reported at a school in Damansara, where a 16-year-old female student lost her life.

In yet another case of school violence, a Form Two student was arrested for allegedly injuring a male classmate with a sharp weapon at a secondary school in Shah Alam.

The 14-year-old girl allegedly injured her classmate with a kerambit, a small curved knife that resembles a claw. The victim reportedly sustained minor injuries to his arm.

According to Sarudin, preliminary investigations found that the suspect was experiencing health issues at the time of the incident, although he declined to provide further details. The motive behind the attack remains unclear.

“The 14-year-old female student was arrested immediately after the incident, and her statement was recorded to assist with investigations."

“She was subsequently released on police bail,” he said, as reported by NST.

The case has been classified under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means.

If convicted, the offender may face up to 10 years' imprisonment, a fine, whipping, or any combination of two of those punishments.
