Hey guys, remember a month back when we were practically praying for rain to get rid of the haze?

Well, we've finally got our wish - a little bit too much of it, in fact.

The Water, Land and Natural Resources Ministry has warned Malaysians who are staying in flood-prone areas to brace themselves for flash floods this month, and probably the next, too.

The Star Online reported that the transition phase between the southwest and northeast monsoons will continue into early November, and thus, we can expect a little bit more flash floods and heavy rain compared to usual.

As such, the Ministry has asked authorities in every state to conduct regular checks on local drainage systems and other waterways such as rivers and ditches to make sure that they are not clogged.

Make sure your car is safe too!
According to the Ministry, Malaysians staying in the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia, as well as parts of Sabah and Sarawak, need to brace themselves for thunderstorms and heavy rain with strong winds in the late afternoon (or, you know, the time when you want to leave work for home).

Because of that, the risk of flash floods may increase, especially in areas near the high sea or Bangsar, because that area always falls victim to flash floods.

Stay dry and safe out there, you guys!
