Cambodian Man Seen Walking on High Ledge at MRT Taman Midah Rescued by Firefighters

A distressing incident unfolded at the Taman Midah MRT station in Kuala Lumpur after a foreign national was seen standing dangerously on the station’s ledge.

According to reports, the incident occurred on 3 March (Tuesday). The Jalan Hang Tuah Fire and Rescue Station said they received an emergency call at 3:45 PM regarding the situation.

Upon arriving at the location, the man, believed to be a Cambodian national, was seen walking outside the corridor of the pedestrian lobby on the upper level of the station.

In a video recorded by witnesses, the man could later be seen with one of his legs dangling over the edge, appearing to threaten to jump as firefighters surrounded him. Down below, a safety net had been prepared by authorities in case the man fell.

In a follow-up video, a firefighter was seen launching himself onto the man. A struggle ensued, during which the man’s legs dangled entirely over the ledge before other firefighters and individuals managed to pull him to safety.

The rescue operation concluded after the situation was confirmed to be under control. The victim was brought down safely and handed over to police for further action.

The video of the dramatic rescue has since gone viral online. While many praised the firefighters and individuals involved for their swift response, others expressed hope that the man receives the help he needs.
