Malaysia’s favourite buddy cop duo is back in full swing after the much-anticipated release of their third instalment, Polis Evo 3.
This week, Polis Evo 3 faces a daunting battle for the box office throne against Hollywood mega-blockbusters, Vin Diesel’s Fast X, Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Super Mario Bros and more.
However, Polis Evo 3 succeeded in earning RM1.3 million during their sneak preview, and additional RM2.1 on opening day. The Malaysian action flick successfully beat the biggest films this month, including the likes of Fast X!
A few years ago, the first Polis Evo broke the record for the first Malaysian film to reach RM18 million in sales, just to see the achievement surpassed by their second film with a total of RM23 million.
Directed by Syafiq Yusof, Polis Evo 3 sees the return of dynamic duo Zizan Razak and Shaheizy Sam together with their main antagonist, Sharnaaz Ahmad. Joining the trio will be Syafiq Kyle, Fauzi Nawawi, Farali Khan and Douglas Lim alongside returning cast members Nora Danish and Eyka Farhana.
This time, the film delves deeper into Inspektor Khai’s past by bringing out his former partner Reza, played by Sharnaaz Ahmad. Hungry for revenge, it’s up to the duo and his team of specialists to prevent Reza from continuing his acts of terror.
The film is now officially available in theaters. Follow the Polis Evo road tour from 26 to 28 May in Terengganu, Pahang, 2 June in Seremban, 3, 4, 5 June in Kedah, Penang Perak and 8, 9, 10, 11 in Singapore, Johor and Melaka.
