19-year-old Malaysian student Norsakinah Naim is reportedly missing in Paris. Her roommate notified the Malaysian Embassy after she suspected that Norsakinah had gone missing upon discovering her unattended mobile phone in their rented room. According to Harian Metro, her roommate waited for her for two days before lodging a report with the embassy.

Norsakinah is a JPA (Public Services Department) scholarship student and is currently pursuing chemical engineering at the Roanne Institute University of Technology (IUT) since being enrolled last year.

Her father, Naim Awang, 46, was informed by the Malaysian Embassy of her disappearance on Monday after she failed to return home after several days. According to Naim, the last time they were in contact with Norsakinah was on September 23rd. There wasn't any weird behaviour or signs based on her conversation with her mother.

“In fact, her voice sounded very cheerful and she did not appear to have problems. She is a very good daughter and very good in her studies,” Naim told The Star.

Hailing from Kampung Masjid, Tikam Batu near Sungai Petani, Norsakinah is a very bright student who had obtained 10A1 in her Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) in 2015. Her parents are now praying anxiously for her safe return and hopes that she will be found soon.
