Just when we thought we’ve seen all kinds of animals there are to be seen, a new species crops up and we are left baffled.
ABC News reported that a new type of intriguing organism was showcased in a zoo in Paris recently.

Called the “blob”, the organism is a yellowish unicellular small living being which looks like a fungus but acts like an animal.
It has no mouth, no stomach and no eyes, but yet it can detect food and digest it. It can also move without legs or wings and heals itself in two minutes if cut in half.
What’s even more interesting is the fact that the blob, which was showcased at the Paris Zoological Park over the weekend, has almost 720 sexes but has no brains!
“The blob is a living being which belongs to one of nature’s mysteries.
“It surprises us because it has no brain but is able to learn and if you merge two blobs, the one that has learned will transmit its knowledge to the other.

"We know for sure it is not a plant but we don’t really if it’s an animal or a fungus,” the director of the Paris Museum of Natural History Bruno David was quoted as saying.
Davis added that the blob behaves "very surprisingly for something that looks like a mushroom", but it has the behaviour of an animal as it is able to learn.
We don't know about you, but if you're a comic book fan, you know that this is the same stuff that Venom is made of, so we hope that scientists are being extra careful around it.
