“She needed 40 stitches" — Mother of Taylor’s Uni Stabbing Victim Speaks Out, Upset Over Suspect’s Release
The mother of a Chinese student who was viciously stabbed by her ex-boyfriend at Taylor’s University in Subang Jaya has recently shared an update on her daughter’s condition.
In a report by Sin Chew Daily, the mother, identified only as Madam Zhang, revealed that her daughter has been living in constant fear since learning that the ex-boyfriend had been granted bail.

According to Madam Zhang, once the family found out that the suspect had been released on RM20,000 bail, they became restless and began taking turns to watch over the victim, who is still recovering.
“When she found out he had been released, my daughter broke down and cried all day. She kept asking, ‘Mom, what if he comes again?’ This isn’t paranoia, it’s real.”
Madam Zhang also shared that her daughter has been struggling to sleep due to the pain.
“She can only sleep for two or three hours each night. She’s either awakened by pain or the effects of anesthesia. Although her body appears to be resting, her nerves say otherwise. She’s only 20 years old and should be enjoying the prime of her youth, but instead, she’s trapped in fear.”
The victim received 40 stitches on her neck
In addition to the emotional and mental trauma, Madam Zhang said her daughter sustained severe physical injuries.

According to her, the knife attack left a wound over 10 centimeters long on her daughter’s neck, requiring more than 40 stitches. She also suffered from pneumothorax and had to undergo chest tube insertion to drain accumulated blood.
What is even more concerning is that the nerves in her daughter’s left hand were severely damaged. “The doctor admitted that the chances of recovery are slim, and she may be permanently disabled.”

Victim was emotionally manipulated & threatened before the attack
Madam Zhang expressed deep frustration over the suspect being granted bail, reportedly on the grounds of having bipolar disorder. She also revealed that her daughter had previously endured emotional manipulation and threats from the suspect.
“How can someone who has deceived, threatened, and manipulated others multiple times before the incident be considered unaware of his actions? If our judicial system accepts such an excuse, it only further harms the victim.”
Following the attack, Madam Zhang said other students from the same university privately expressed their concerns. Many fear the suspect might return to campus to seek revenge.
“I hope the judicial authorities can truly see the seriousness of this matter. Don’t let a girl suffer after an attack. The law should protect victims, not perpetrators,” she said.
