Be the First to Experience M’sia’s First Ever Silent Cinema Experience This Weekend at REXKL

Thankfully, you can now experience movies like never before, as Malaysia is about to have its first-ever silent cinema experience at REXKL where they will be showing two classic Malay romantic comedies in an immersive new way.

Through a collaboration with Astro Shaw and as part of its REXRAYA event, REXKL will be showing silent cinema experiences of local smash hits Busker (10:30 pm, April 26, 2024) and Man Laksa (10:30 pm, April 27, 2024). All you need to do is to bring your own pair of headphones/earphones and your phone!

Man Laksa features Yassin Senario, Bront Palarae, and Sharifah Aleya and revolves around a charming laksa seller who dreams of winning over the heart of the village head's daughter. When fate throws him a curveball in the form of a talent show, Man Laksa sees his chance to impress her. But when the show’s organisers bail, he must step up to save the day, orchestrating a spectacular event to win the girl and the whole village’s admiration.

Meanwhile, Busker features Daiyan Trisha and Hafeez Mikail as two college students with clashing personalities who are thrown together for a project. Despite their rocky start, they find themselves drawn closer as they collaborate. Reeling from a breakup, Adil finds an unlikely ally in Vera, who proposes they enter a busking competition to win his ex-girlfriend back. But as they dive into rehearsals, Vera discovers her own heartstrings being tugged by Adil’s charm.

Tickets cost RM10 per movie, which is a bargain, especially since you can control every aspect of the movie’s audio with just a few clicks on your phone. All you have to do is download the Cinewav app, put on your headphones, kick back, relax, and enjoy!
