Upcoming Malaysian Film ‘Imaginur’ Selected For a Film Festival in New York
It was only in June that Yazeid Suhaimi’s short film SOEURS was premiered at the 26th Buncheon International Film Festival in South Korea. This week, Malaysian cinema received another piece of good news.
Highly-respected film director Nik Amir Mustapha, famous for his film ‘KIL’, returns with a new sci-fi-looking film Imaginur.
Starring Malaysia’s finest Beto Kusyairiy and Diana Danielle, there’s very little information on the genre or synopsis of this film. However, knowing Nik Amir’s track record for fresh ideas and cohesive storylines, fans are excited for the release of the movie, especially after Beto’s impressive performance in Mat Kilau.
Adding to the excitement, Imaginur was recently nominated for the New York Asian Film Festival 2022 in the Uncaged Award For Best Feature Film category.
The film will be among seven other Asian films in this category, all will be premiered globally from the 15th to 31st of July.#LensaFINAS #SpotlightFINAS ingin merakamkan ucapan tahniah kepada filem cereka tempatan, 'Imaginur' arahan Pengarah Terbaik FFM26, Nik Amir Mustapha yang terpilih mewakili Malaysia dan telah diumumkan menembusi seleksi pencalonan Filem Cereka Terbaik (Uncaged Award for pic.twitter.com/4PisvYByv2— Finas Malaysia®™ (@FinasMy) July 3, 2022
