Gomez, who once dated fellow pop star Justin Bieber, attended the Cannes Film Festival over weekend with the 68-year-old actor.
In an Instagram post showcasing her Cannes look, the petite singer also announced that she will get ‘married’ to Murray.
“My first time in Cannes! I’m so honored to have been a part of this movie with Jim and the whole cast. By the way, Bill Murray and I are getting married,” she wrote.
Of course, Gomez's announcement left her fans hanging for more explanation, but she has decided to keep them guessing by keeping quiet.
The caption itself was enough to send fans into overdrive, but what really set tongues wagging was a picture of Murray intimately whispering into Gomez's ear:
When asked what he whispered into Gomez's ear, Murray told Vanity Fair that he does not remember.
"I don't remember what I said. I was trying to keep her at ease. I really like her.
"I mean, you still can't tell me who the hell ‘Selena Gomez' is - but Gomez... I really like," he was quoted as saying.
