The Brunch Buffet to Top All Others, Experience the Best Sunday Brunch at W KL’s FLOCK
There’s something magical about Sunday brunch that makes it the highlight of every weekend. Besides the fantastic breakfast food you get to indulge in, weekend brunches are also the perfect time to catch up with your friends and family.
If you’re on the hunt for a brunch spot that’s both fun and delicious, look no further than W Kuala Lumpur’s FLOCK Sunday Brunch.
With over 100 food items to select from, ranging from fresh seafood and cooked meats, as well as varieties of desserts, soups, vegetables and salads, here’s what we tried at FLOCK's Sunday Brunch buffet:
Light bits and bobs
To start things off, we opted not to rush into its mouthwatering offerings straightaway and instead went for lighter bites such as its bread, cheese, salad and cured meat options.
Each section was packed with a variety of different types of food items. We tested the Olive Ciabatta & Sourdough Roll in the bread section, which was both superbly crisp and fluffy, while we had some small bites of their Truffle Cheese which was packed with truffles.

At the salad and cured meat section, we sampled their Green Papaya and Young Mango Salad, which was super fresh and fragrant.
If you’re a fan of smoked salmon like we are, you’d be delighted to find that there’s a range of cured salmons of different flavours, such as salmon cured with Pomegranate, Bunga Telang and Kaffir Lime. We tried all three variations and loved how unique each tasted when combined with the salmon.

Bakar and baked
If you’re looking for something more hearty and filling, FLOCK also offers various baked, grilled and BBQed meats and seafood, from beef ribs and chicken and lamb kebabs to BBQed squid, tiger prawns and barramundi.
We loved the chicken and lamb kebabs, which were packed with flavour and spices. These dishes can be paired with sides, including roasted pumpkin, pureed potato and grilled corn. We personally enjoyed the pureed potato, which was creamy and thick.

On the other hand, we also liked the BBQed seafood, which tasted super fresh and fragrant.
Signatures dishes
Although the highlight of any buffet is usually the freshly grilled and roasted section with favourites such as beef ribs, ayam perchik and chicken and lamb kebab, we actually enjoyed FLOCK’s signature dishes even more.
Their hot casserole section featured offerings such as Thai Gai Yang Chicken, Lamb Kofta Makhani, Sticky Glaze Beef Ribs and Steamed Oysters. The Lamb Kofta Makhani and Sticky Glaze Beef Ribs were our favourites of the night. The lamb kofta, cooked in a buttery makhani sauce, was absolutely delicious, while the beef ribs were amazingly tender and an ideal combination of sweet and salty.

Although vegetables tend to be overlooked at buffets when considering other meat-based alternatives, we highly recommend not skipping out on FLOCK’s plant-forward selections. Their vegetable-focused dishes were also simply excellent, with our favourites being their Deep-fried Broccoli and Wild Mushroom Rendang.
Additionally, we also dug into their Special Fried Rice, Sauteed Spring Beans, and Vietnamese Stir Fry Mussels, all of which were super tasty.
Straight from kitchen to table
Besides the vast array of ready-to-take dishes available as part of the spread, there are also a few made-to-order dishes that you can opt for. When we went, there was a choice of Cumin Lamb Smushed Burger, Truffles Mushrooms Mac & Cheese, Crispy Fish Waffles, and Big Mac Tacos.
Despite wishing we could’ve tried all four dishes, we ended up ordering the Big Mac Tacos and Truffles Mushrooms Mac & Cheese. The dishes took less than 10 minutes to be prepared before being served. We loved the Big Mac Tacos, which tasted exactly like McDonald’s famed secret Big Mac sauce.

Meanwhile, the Truffles Mushrooms Mac & Cheese was a rich pot of cheesy creaminess. However, we wished more truffles had been incorporated as they didn’t really shine in the dish.
However, do note that the selection of made-to-order dishes changes from time to time.
A wide net of variety
Besides cooked dishes, fresh seafood is also available at FLOCK's Sunday Brunch. Anyone who’s eaten at W Kuala Lumpur would be familiar with its spectacular spread of fresh seafood consisting of mussels, tiger prawns, scallops, imported freshly shucked oysters, and various sushi.

Desserts & drinks
The Sunday brunch buffet also offers a wide variety of desserts and drinks, from different types of cakes and pastries to chocolate and a chocolate fountain. There’s even a cute gelato stand with exciting flavours like Lime Calamansi, Local Cacao, Pandan Coconut Butterpea Flower and Mango Ginger Flower.
Although we were way too full to try most of the desserts, we made it a point to try the Lime Camansi and Local Cacao gelato. Both were extremely fresh-tasting and tasted totally unique!

Meanwhile, in terms of beverages, besides your typical canned drinks, which are available by order, there’s also a variety of fresh juices such as orange, apple, and guava. We were also delighted to find that there are made-to-order espresso-based coffees, perfect for that post-meal pick-me-up once the food coma starts kicking in.
Out-of-this-world service
At FLOCK, you can choose from a range of seating arrangements, from long tables and more intimate 1-on-1 tables to seating with views of the Twin Towers.
Similar to the fusion of avant-garde and contemporary decorative elements seen at W Kuala Lumpur’s YEN, the interior at FLOCK features a more modern and Western look. In terms of entertainment, a DJ provides a lively atmosphere with a mix of upbeat tracks and smooth house music, ensuring that diners are entertained throughout their meal.

Like the speedy and friendly service we received at YEN, the service at FLOCK was genuinely top-notch. The servers went above and beyond to cater to every request with a smile, and we were genuinely astonished at how attentive they were to every table. We’d say that this was probably one of the best services we’ve ever experienced, especially at a buffet.
Overall verdict
Despite the price being a little high, at RM248 nett per pax, the entire experience, from the food to the ambience at FLOCK, is truly worthwhile.
It is definitely one of our favourite buffets and the best Sunday brunch you could ever wish for. We highly recommend everyone experience it at least once and try everything that FLOCK's Sunday Brunch offers.
