As Nobu Kuala Lumpur marks its tenth anniversary, it closes the year with a celebration that feels both nostalgic and forward-looking. The Festive Omakase Menu 2025, available throughout December, is more than a seasonal offering, it’s a statement of artistry and evolution, curated by Executive Chef Philip Leong, who has been at the helm since the restaurant’s inception in 2015.
Fresh from its star-studded anniversary in October, Nobu KL’s festive menu is a sensorial journey through the brand’s signature craftsmanship and global influences. At RM900++ per person (with an optional RM475++ beverage pairing), this is an experience designed for those who want their year-end to be memorable and indulgent.
The opening act
The omakase begins with Toro Tartare Wasabi Guacamole, a dish that immediately sets the tone for Nobu’s East-meets-West philosophy. The fatty tuna’s luxurious texture meets the playful heat of wasabi-brightened guacamole, creating a vibrant opening act.

This is followed by Shima Aji Tataki Yuzu Aji Amarillo, lightly seared to preserve its clean sweetness, dressed in a citrusy yuzu aji amarillo sauce and accented with strawberry salsa, a delicate nod to Nobu’s Peruvian roots.
A selection of sushi
A quartet of sushi then takes centre stage, each piece a precise study in texture and refinement.
Chutoro kissed with lime and sesame oil, Kampachi with ginger salsa and cherry tomato, Salmon crowned with yuzu truffle dressing, and Madai finished with shiso kosho and bonito soy.

Our personal favourite out of the four were the Kampachi and the Salmon, each showcasing Nobu’s mastery in balancing delicate flavours with inventive touches. The Kampachi stood out for its clean, buttery texture complemented by the gentle heat of ginger salsa, while the Salmon was a revelation, bright, citrusy, and lifted by the earthy depth of yuzu truffle dressing.
Indulgence elevated
The indulgence deepens with Matsuhisa Shrimp Creamy Spicy, stuffed with shiitake and shiso, cloaked in creamy spicy sauce and crowned with caviar, a dish that embodies Nobu’s global cult appeal.
Then comes Frothing Blue Crab, a theatrical creation featuring baked crab beneath an airy egg-white meringue, masago, and uni. It’s a dish that feels as much like performance art as it does fine dining.

The Chilean Seabass Moromi Miso offers a comforting interlude, its buttery flesh enriched by deep umami, while sobagaki on the side adds an earthy counterpoint.

The grand finale
The crescendo arrives with A5 Wagyu Yamamomo Teriyaki, rich, marbled, and melt-in-your-mouth tender, served alongside heirloom tomato salad, mushrooms, and potato hash.

Dessert seals the experience with Tonka Cheese with Pecan Miso Ice Cream, praline, and micro sponge. The creamy, gently spiced tonka foam pairs beautifully with the nutty depth of pecan miso, while the praline adds a satisfying crunch and the micro sponge lends an airy elegance.
