As the supply of essential items like hand sanitisers and face masks are becoming more scarce these days, high fashion luxury brand Louis Vuitton is reportedly set to produce their very own hand disinfectant gel to help the fight against coronavirus.
To be distributed to health care authorities
Channel News Asia reported that the brand’s owner, LVMH, will be producing the gels via its perfume and cosmetic brands line.
And here's the best part: they will be distributing them for free!
"LVMH will use the production lines of its perfume and cosmetic brands...to produce large quantities of hydroalcoholic gels from Monday (16 March).
"These gels will be delivered free of charge to the health authorities," LVMH said in a statement quoted by the news site.
According to the report, the gel that’s produced will be delivered to the health authorities in France and Assistance Publique-Hospitaux de Paris.
"Through this initiative, LVMH intends to help address the risk of a lack of product in France and enable a greater number of people to continue to take the right action to protect themselves from the spread of the virus," the company said.
Prior to this, LVMH had also announced a donation of 16 million yuan (RM9.85 million) to the Chinese Red Cross Foundation to help with shortage of medical supplies in Wuhan.
